We have started the year, and how wonderful it is to see classes full of students happily learning. Music classes start today, and we’ll hear singing, too.
We are working out new procedures; they appear solid. Students are taking health precautions seriously but not fearfully. I hear students and teachers laughing together, and also reading good things.
“My son, eat honey because it is good,
And the honeycomb which is sweet to your taste;
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul;
If you have found it, there is a prospect,
And your hope will not be cut off.”
(Proverbs 24:13-14)
This is what we are about! In humility, we are aiming to teach your children knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. This is the responsibility of all Christian parents and all who serve truly there is not much difficulty these days in seeing that government education, either in actual instruction or in the student cultures that dominate schools, teaches foolishness and ultimately despair. (Not in one year, of course… thoughts and values are inculcated and accumulated over many years.)
As you continue to pray that Geneva would be left alone to instruct children in person, please pray for Christian parents who want to provide a Christian education for their children, but for financial reasons, or fear of change, or difficult circumstances, are holding back. There are multiple options for Christian parents; Geneva is just one of them. Pray that those parents would be faithful to what God is calling them to do.
Thank you for your support and encouragement to staff as we’ve prepared for this school year!
Have a delightful week,
Brian Turner
