What Parents Say

We, as a family, are deeply committed to the mission of Geneva Academy.  We are strongly convinced of the classical method, with a foundation based on God and His Holy Scripture. Geneva Academy has become an integral part of our lives.

If you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding…           Proverbs 2:4-6

Aidan has grown in discipline and character. He really is becoming a life long learner for the service and glory of God.  I have grown in my commitment to training and caring for my family.  Seeing the teachers and staff invest wholeheartedly in my children challenges me be to the best father I can be, by His grace.  Both Laura and I have grown in the overall discipline of life.  Joining Geneva has pushed us to acquire more discipline in our lives. We desire to be better servants for His glory as we serve our family and Geneva Academy.

After the kids’ first year at Geneva Academy, I am almost ashamed to say that I ever questioned sending our children to Geneva.  The first year was truly a wonderful experience for the kids. The growth that we saw in all three children was amazing.  Spiritually, I noticed a true desire to please the Lord and an eagerness to learn more about Him develop in each of the children.  God was putting Himself into my life and giving me the opportunity to be a spiritual leader to my family.  I spent time with the kids working on memory verses, working through homework with some tough spiritual questions (especially Cole’s homework) and simply spending time with them while helping them.  Academically, all three children excelled beyond my wildest expectations.  The time spent helping them on their schoolwork was wonderful, even when time was crunched or there were competing agendas. The growth and improvement in all of our children’s work ethic, discipline and general scholastic knowledge has been truly amazing.

We would like to express to you, Geneva Academy, our deepest appreciation for all that the school has done for our family. We especially appreciate that our children are being taught in school the same virtues and expectations that we teach at home; that you have partnered with us in giving our children a solid Christian foundation. Our children are receiving a superior education where God is the center of all things taught, where they have the opportunity to worship and love the Lord each day and where they reap the benefits of staff who live out Christ’s love and grace daily. Our children are constantly being challenged academically and spiritually. We feel so blessed that God led us to this school and we are so grateful for all the help Geneva Academy has given our family in making it possible for our children to attend such a great school.

Our son has been attending Geneva Academy for three years now. Each year he has grown in character, and love for learning. He has developed a reverence for God and for doing all things to the glory of God. We are thankful for the genuine heartfelt love of Jesus shown by all the teachers, with an active care for the children that goes beyond the classroom. We are grateful for the time our son has had at Geneva Academy.

When our son turned five, we knew we wanted something different than what the standard public education system had to offer, but we weren’t sure what that was.  Homeschooling didn’t seem like a good match for our family, and we felt that private education wasn’t attainable for us.  So we reluctantly signed him up for our local kindergarten.  I [Heather] tearfully saw him off that first day, and when I picked him up he told me about the few things they had done.  The next day he brought home a note informing parents that there would no longer be a morning playtime and that the children needed to walk quietly to their classes and work on an assigned task.  For our energetic little boy, this seemed like a disaster waiting to happen.  The third day, he cried in the morning that he didn’t want to go to school, and couldn’t he “just stay home with you, mom?”.  As the week progressed and our son became more unhappy, we knew we needed something different.  At the same time, we talked with a friend who had enrolled her children at Geneva, and also learned that we knew the kindergarten teacher; both of whom encouraged us to apply.

We called and got information, filled out our paperwork, and did our interview all in just a few short days.  We were thrilled and relieved when we got word that we had been accepted.  At the end of his first day of kindergarten at Geneva, our son was all smiles.  He is nearing the end of first grade now and that smile has not faded.  Instead of not wanting to go to school, he doesn’t want to leave.

We are impressed with not only the caliber of education that our son is receiving, but also the atmosphere of the school.  It is obvious that God is in the heart of the school and the people who are a part of it.   The teachers and staff have a deep love and respect for the children they interact with daily.  The children bloom under the individualized attention they get in the small classes.  Instead of wondering how our son is doing and if he is having difficulty in any area, we are informed right away and can look for solutions immediately.  Between the level of education provided, the consistent communication with the teachers, and the atmosphere of community, becoming a part of Geneva Academy has been one of the best decisions we have made.
